Federal Member for the seat of Solomon, Natasha Griggs, is the latest member of The Country Liberal Party to call on the Northern Territory Government to raise the power and water tariffs in increments.
Ms Griggs wrote in her latest newsletter, ‘I understand the need for the Northern Territory Government to reign in debt but at the same time I feel this would have best been done be incrementing the Power and Water increases over a period of time rather than all at once’.
Various media outlets in The Territory are also campaigning for the prices to be raised gradually, but Chief Minister Terry Mills has already ruled this out.
