Chief Minister Terry Mills and Federal Member for the seat of Solomon Natasha Griggs have both criticized Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s decision to endorse Nova Peris as the Northern Territory senate candidate.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard made the announcement at a press conference yesterday without the consultation of the NT branch of the Australian Labor party or current Labor Senator for the NT Trish Crossin.
Mr Mills said the decision was a humiliating snub to NT Labor while Ms Griggs said it demonstrates how ruthless Julia Gillard can be and how uncertain she is of her own leadership.
