The future of a Northern Territory weather station continues to remain in doubt as The Northern Territory Cattleman’s Association waits for a response on a bid to purchase the station.
The weather radar, located in Tennant Creek, has been switched off by the Bureau of Meteorology as a costing cutting measure and residents fear it could be torn down.
Executive Director of the NT Cattleman’s Association, Luke Bowen, has expressed concern without the radar there is a real threat to life and wellbeing to residents within the Barkly Region.
