Northern Territory Police are reminding drivers to check their vehicle is insured and registered following charges on a 31-year-old man involved in the school bus crash on the Stuart Highway earlier this week.
Watch Commander Garry Smith said the man will face charges of driving an unregistered vehicle despite the fact it was a company truck involved in the incident.
“He’s been charged with traffic offences relating to that crash, and also faces further charges as driving an unregistered vehicle even though it was a company truck”
It comes as a timely reminder that the driver of an unregistered vehicle can still face fines, even if they are not the owner of the vehicle.
