Proof that anyone can be a victim of property crime, with the Mayor of Palmerston, Ian Abbott, having his iPad stolen over the weekend.
Its alleged 2 males, who were on the way home from a party, broke into a number of cars causing significant damage and stealing a large amount of property.
Watch Commander Louise Jorgensen said GPS tracking software on the iPad was used to locate the offenders which lead to their arrest.
“It was tracked down to an address in Farrar by operation Trident members. 2 males were arrested, 16 and 18 years old, and they’ve been charged with a string of property offences and they’ll appear in court today”
Police located more stolen property at the residents, and are asking anyone who has recently had property stolen but not recovered to contact police.
