Hot100 Updates Health Based Approach For Problem Drinkers

Minister for Health, Dave Tollner, has recommended health based approaches to rehabilitation for problem drinkers rather than through the justice system.

New Government legislation, which is expected to be ready by the middle of this year, will see problem drinkers face a clinical assessment and if necessary undergo mandatory rehabilitation.

The legislation is expected to replace Labor’s banned drinkers register which the CLP dismantled within the first week of Government in August last year.
