A 32 year old man has been arrested after being in possession of 40kg of kava.
Watch Commander Bob Harrison said the man was arrested at around 9:30 last night after police searched 2 bags belonging to the man at Gove Airport
"When they did so they located 40 kilos of kava broken up into 597 deal bags with an estimated street value of $60,000."
The man has been charged with possessing a commercial quantity of kava and supplying kava without a licence.
