Holden were the big winners in this weekend’s V8 Supercar Skycity Triple Crown at Hidden Valley in Darwin.
Red Bull Racings Jamie Whincup took pole position in Race 1 on Saturday followed by Shane Van Gisbergen in 2nd and James Courtney in 3rd.
Race 2 on Sunday saw Fords Mark Winterbottom secure a comfortable 6 second win over Holdens Courtney and Lowndes.
A large crash and pileup involving 10 cars in race 3 caused a 15 minute delay resulting in a shortened race.
A tight battle emerged in the final 2 laps between Holden’s Craig Lowndes and Fords Mark Winterbottom which saw Lowndes secure 1st place by just .12 of a second.
Jamie Whincup still remains Championship leader with a 159 point lead above team mate Craig Lowndes.
The V8 Supercars will return to Hidden Valley again in 2014.
